Reading & research
AI News
Headlines pulled live from dozens of RSS feeds, filtered by category, language, or a pin on a map.
Reading & research

What it does
- The Feed tab fetches up to twelve matching feeds at once, keeps ten items from each, sorts everything newest first, and persists results to disk so the feed is not blank when you reopen the app
- A row of category pills: All, General, Local, World, Tech, Sports, Business, Health, Science, Entertainment, Videos
- A second row of language pills — All Languages, English, Español, Français, Português, 日本語, 中文, العربية, Русский, हिन्दी, Kiswahili, 한국어 — each shown in its own script
- A Globe tab plots each outlet at its newsroom's coordinates on a MapKit map with realistic terrain; clicking a pin opens that outlet's latest stories in a sheet
- A Sources tab lists every feed grouped by country, and each source opens the same latest-stories sheet
- The feed list is data, not code: it is fetched at runtime from a JSON file in a public GitHub repo with a one-day cache, with a 44-source list bundled in the app as an offline fallback — so a dead feed can be fixed without shipping an app update
- If a source fails, the last good cached items are served instead of blanking the feed; video sources get a play badge; choosing "Local" is the moment the app asks for location so nearby sources can be resolved
How to try it
- Open AI News — the "Feed" tab loads automatically.
- Click a category pill such as "Tech", then a language pill such as "English".
- Click "Globe" in the tab row and click one of the newspaper pins to see that outlet's latest stories.
- Click any headline in the feed to open the full article in your default browser.
